International Buyers Choose Banksia Grove The question of where to build your dream home or investment property can be a hard enough decision as it is, but would you take the challenge if you lived overseas? According to Toby and Linda Simpson, with the right assistance, the task is not as daunting as it may seem. Living in Singapore, the opportunity to purchase a block in a growing suburb which was close to a number of facilities, was a major deciding factor. “We lived in Africa for some time, and loved the feeling of having space around us. Between our next stop, Dubai and now in Singapore, it’s something we miss. Banksia Grove’s abundance of natural bushland, which our new home will overlook, was a major draw card,” said Linda. “We found Banksia Grove through my sister Wendy, who lives in Ashby. The suburb is close enough to the city for commuters, but far enough away to not feel cramped. And the fact the block we have bought is close to some really good schools, is also a bonus. “When considering an investment property which we may retire to, we looked at England and Dubai originally. But my parents are moving to Australia from Zimbabwe, so there was a solution which suited all of us by investing in Banksia Grove.” Once the suburb was a contender, the couple used the miracle of modern technology to research the facts and figures. “We researched land prices throughout Perth to gauge where the best place would be to invest. Then we came to Perth to see it for ourselves, and sign the papers,” added Linda. Mary Coleman, Banksia Grove Estate Manager says overseas purchasers require lots of information up front but they are highly worthwhile. “I find them quite rewarding as the most usual scenario is people planning to come to live in Perth who buy their land prior to their arrival so they are ready to build as soon as they get here,” she said. “Toby and Linda bought a lovely, traditional sized block overlooking one of our wonderful parks with retained Banksia trees and other native vegetation - I’m sure their parents will be very happy”, she added. |
